New Platforms Launched to Enhance SCO Health CooperationDecember 23, 2022WUHAN, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) — A series of medical and health platforms were launched under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Thursday to provide members of the group with better health services. During a forum held by the SCO hospital alliance in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province, three SCO telemedicine cooperation platform centers were launched in Hubei, Gansu and Xinjiang. Four online platforms under the SCO hospital alliance were also launched, focusing on the hepatobiliary and pancreatic specialties, gynaecology, internet hospitals, and hospital management. Cui Li, vice president of the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the SCO, expressed the hope that the new platforms will provide better medical and health services for the people in SCO countries. Health is a key cooperation area among SCO countries. The SCO hospital alliance now has 109 members, including 81 Chinese hospitals. The alliance has established cooperation platforms in six fields and carried out cross-border remote consultations for nearly 1,000 cases of intractable diseases.
